Fire Alarm Technician

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NICET Level I, certification in Fire Alarm Systems required.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a fire alarm installer or service technician.
• The candidate must be proficient and experienced in troubleshooting fire alarm systems, wiring, and ground faults.
• Technical training and an electrical background preferred.
• Kingfisher, Monaco, Honeywell EBI and FS90/FS90, EST3 and Notifier certifications or experience is a plus.
• Prior experience working on government contracts or military bases preferred.
• Experience with fire suppression systems such as CO2 and wet/pre-action fire sprinkler systems preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to stand, walk, sit for prolonged periods
• Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, reach, stretch, kneel, and squat.
• Must be able to perform repetitive tasks or motions for prolonged periods.
• Must have sufficient physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina to complete various tasks.
• High noise levels are common with general maintenance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This role requires work in a non-office setting, outdoor and industrial locations.
• Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dust, mist, and/or fumes.
• Required the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• We require wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection.
• Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Position will require rotating on-call ability within the department.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.
• Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
• Must be proficient with the English Language per contract.
