Street Legal Industries, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer for our project in San Antonio, TX.
Provide direct support of the mechanical, fire protection and project engineers supporting all activities required.
Establish a thorough understanding of requirements for Fire Protection as it relates to the JBSA Fire Department. All coordination shall include and be coordinated through the appropriate Government representative.
Attend all meetings to discuss related features of work to ensure project success at every level. Perform BCOES and plan in hand reviews with teammates by applying lessons learned from experience.
Schedule and conduct fire protection analysis and surveys of facilities (including pre-construction, during construction, and post construction) to identify potential fire risks.
Perform inspections in compliance with approved documentation on all assigned projects.
Evaluate work practices, procedures, and physical conditions to determine compliance with accepted fire protection codes, standards, and established fire safety policy.
Prepare detailed technical reports concerning fire protection analysis and surveys including corrective action to be taken to correct deficient conditions.
Provide guidance and recommend changes to work practices and procedures, facility design, construction features, and fire protection systems and equipment to adhere to fire protection codes and standards.
Serve as a fire-safety and life-safety consultant to project managers and other management officials regarding fire protection features required in facilities and construction projects.
Schedule and conduct final acceptance tests of newly installed fire suppression and detection systems.
Review submittals to provide constructive comments, achieving an acceptable documentation of planned installation.
Evaluate and respond to RFIs and review scopes of work for any field changes.
Requirements
BS Degree in Fire Protection or related Engineering discipline and more than 10 years' experience.
Experience with Quality Control and familiarity with RMS.
Past experience with USACE or Air Force Military Construction (MILCON) projects is preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Fire Protection Engineering or NICET Level 5 Certification required.
