Position Summary

Mongiovi & Son is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Project Manager to join our New Construction / New Installation Division.

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing commercial fire protection projects from turnover through final completion. This position will coordinate field operations, materials, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, general contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and applicable fire protection codes.

The ideal candidate has experience managing fire sprinkler and/or fire protection construction projects and is comfortable managing multiple active projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage fire protection new construction and installation projects from project turnover through completion and closeout.

• Review contracts, plans, specifications, scopes of work, estimates, and project requirements.

• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and material requirements.

• Coordinate project activities with general contractors, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.

• Work closely with field superintendents, foremen, and installation crews to ensure projects remain on schedule.

• Coordinate material purchasing, equipment, deliveries, and other project resources.

• Monitor labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs against project budgets.

• Track project financial performance and identify potential cost overruns or schedule concerns.

• Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, specifications, and other project documentation.

• Identify changes in scope and prepare, track, and manage change orders.

• Attend project meetings and provide timely updates regarding schedules, progress, coordination issues, and outstanding items.

• Conduct jobsite visits as necessary to monitor project progress, quality, and coordination.

• Ensure installations comply with applicable NFPA standards, project specifications, approved drawings, and local code requirements.

• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and project closeout requirements.

• Maintain accurate project documentation, correspondence, contracts, change orders, schedules, and reports.

• Proactively identify and resolve project challenges that could impact schedule, cost, quality, or customer satisfaction.

• Maintain strong working relationships with customers and general contractors throughout the project.

• Provide regular project and financial updates to company management.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines and project priorities.

Qualifications

• Previous project management experience within the fire protection, fire sprinkler, or commercial construction industry strongly preferred.

• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and project coordination.

• Knowledge of fire sprinkler/fire protection systems, NFPA standards, and applicable codes preferred.

• NICET certification preferred but not required.

• Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.

• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, labor, materials, and change orders.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to effectively communicate with field personnel, general contractors, customers, vendors, and management.

• Ability to manage multiple active projects and competing priorities.

• Strong computer skills and ability to learn and utilize construction/project management software.
