Position Summary

Wiginton Fire Systems is seeking an Experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our Sanford (Orlando) office.

This role is responsible for producing accurate, code-compliant fire sprinkler system designs that clearly communicate installation requirements to field teams. You will play a critical role in project success from concept through execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design fire sprinkler systems using HydraCAD and AutoCAD
  • Produce detailed shop drawings and submittal packages
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
  • Ensure designs meet NFPA standards and local codes
  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and other trades
  • Review and revise designs based on project needs and feedback
  • Maintain accuracy, quality, and timelines across multiple projects


Qualifications (Required)

  • Minimum 2+ years of fire sprinkler design experience (design/build contractor environment)
  • Proficiency in HydraCAD and AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of sprinkler systems, materials, and installation practices
  • Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and insurable driving record


Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET certification (or actively pursuing)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills


Work Environment & Expectations

  • Office-based role in Tampa, FL
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Overtime may be required during peak project cycles (up to 25 hours/week as needed)
