Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Security System Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot integrated security systems including alarm systems, video surveillance, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of both traditional security systems and modern IP-based solutions.

 Essential Job Function and Responsibilities: 

• Install, program, and configure security systems including intrusion detection, access control, and CCTV systems
• Design and implement network infrastructure to support security systems, including TCP/IP networking, switches, and wireless technologies
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on security equipment and systems
• Configure and maintain video management software (VMS) and network video recorders (NVR)
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with security systems and networks
• Program and maintain alarm panels, keypads, and monitoring systems
• Document system installations, modifications, and maintenance activities
• Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed
• Ensure all installations meet relevant codes and industry standards

 Work Environment:

• Field-based position requiring travel to client sites throughout the country
• May require working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors
• On-call rotation for emergency response
• Some evening and weekend work may be required

• 3+ years experience in security system installation and maintenance
• Strong knowledge of alarm systems, CCTV, and access control technologies
• Proven experience with IP networking, including switching, routing, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of various transmission methods (IP, wireless, fiber optic)
• Experience with major security system manufacturers' products
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry certifications (ESA, NICET, manufacturer certifications)
• Experience with enterprise video management systems
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards and installation
• Background in IT networking 
• Experience with integration of various security subsystems
