We also inspect various safety systems such as; fire suppression, wet and dry sprinkler systems, special hazards and we offer fire alarm /burglar monitoring. Job Description

Wayman Fire Protection is looking for a dedicated Fire Alarm Technician to join our Inspections Division as a Lead Inspector.  We have an immediate need and are looking for the right fit to join our team.  This person is a motivated self-starter who works with a sense of urgency, is detail focused, well organized and who works well in a fast-paced environment.  Our Lead Inspector position will be responsible for the completion of assigned Inspections, and maintain accurate and timely submission of Inspection reports.

This position will focus on new and existing customers, Inspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, or suppression life safety systems.  He/She must ensure that all life safety systems comply with all local, state, and federal fire safety regulations.   Inspectors work closely with internal team members, customers and other state and local government officials while inspecting life safety systems.   Inspectors are responsible for reading and understanding assigned project documentation and work orders, determining if additional information is needed.  He/She must be able to write detailed reports of inspection deficiencies and provide information for quoting purposes.

  • Test and inspect fire safety equipment and systems with existing and new customer base
  • Maintain proper documentation for work performed using electronic devices provided
  • Complete detailed reports of work completed for submission to the customer
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor with both our external and internal customers
  • Be able to communicate effectively with our customer base while providing a high level of customer service
  • Can attend out of state training when it is presented as well as participate in local training to maintain the skills necessary to continue serving our customer base
  • Complete any additional assignments above and beyond their normal work duties

Qualifications

What we look for

  • Minimum 3+ years of electronic systems experience in the industry with preference to fire alarm equipment and systems
  • Ability to work on various types of equipment to include but not limited to; Edwards, Honeywell, Notifier, Silent Knight, FireLite.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and listening skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a group environment as well as independently to achieve the goals set forth by the organization
  • NICET Level I or Higher, preferred but not required
  • Organized, self-motivated, and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel within our geographical area without any restraints
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints of the business needs
  • Excellent skills using basic Microsoft functions to include but no limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, etc.
