Chesapeake Fire Protection is looking for a motivated Fire Alarm Installer to join our growing team! You'll play a hands-on role installing, testing, and maintaining fire alarm and life safety systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.

 

🛠️ What You’ll Do

  • Install fire alarm devices, control panels, wiring, and conduit according to project drawings and specifications.

  • Test and inspect newly installed systems to ensure proper operation.

  • Troubleshoot and correct installation issues under supervision.

  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC), local codes, and project requirements.

  • Maintain organized work areas and handle tools, equipment, and materials safely.

  • Document installations, system changes, and testing results.

  • Coordinate with other trades and project personnel.

  • Follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and participate in safety meetings.

  • Support service and retrofit projects as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

⭐ What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1–3 years of fire alarm installation or low-voltage electrical experience preferred.

  • NICET or other fire alarm certifications preferred, but not required.

  • Willingness to obtain required state or local licenses and certifications.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

 

💪 The Job

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and working at heights or in confined spaces.

  • Field-based work at commercial, industrial, and residential job sites.

  • Exposure to varying weather, noise, and active construction environments.

  • Overtime and travel between job sites required.
