What you’ll do
As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will have a unique opportunity to make a significant and meaningful contribution to the success of George A. Kint, Inc. and its customers through the following core job responsibilities:
  • Install fire alarm systems including control panels, detectors, pull stations, and notification devices.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Ensure systems are installed according to NFPA codes and local regulations.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure systems are functioning properly.
  • Test alarm systems and components to verify operational readiness.
  • Document inspection results and report any deficiencies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning fire alarm systems.
  • Replace faulty wiring, sensors, or control modules.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to extend system life and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, tests, and repairs.
  • Ensure systems meet all safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, dispatchers, and team members.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
What you need to thrive in this role
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–3+ years of experience with fire alarm systems (installation, maintenance, or inspection) preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
  • NICET certification or equivalent (preferred but not required).
  • Strong attention to detail and safety practices.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 75lbs with appropriate equipment to assist as part of normal daily job function.
  • Willing and able to work a rotating on call schedule as well as flexible hours including early morning, nights, and weekends.
  • Current or prior experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, meters, and pipe threading machines.
  • Well versed with the use of smart phones and other electronic devices such as iPads and computers.
  • Ability to successfully complete basic and recurring training and demonstrate knowledge retention.
  • Proven ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
